Himalaya Airlines Initiates Flights to Qingdao, China

Kathmandu: Himalaya Airlines has commenced direct flights to Qingdao, China, as part of its efforts to expand its destinations in China and promote tourism between Nepal and China.

The airline plans to operate flights to at least 10 destinations in China with the aim of bringing in one million tourists from China. The introduction of flights to Qingdao is seen as a significant contribution to promoting Nepal's tourism.

The inaugural flight to Qingdao was welcomed by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song, and Himalaya Airlines Chairman Zhou Enyong. Minister Kirati expressed his delight at the airline's decision to operate direct flights to Qingdao, emphasizing the potential for tourism and trade between the two countries. He invited residents of Qingdao to visit Nepal and explore the cultural and natural attractions.

Chinese Ambassador Song noted that the new flight route marks a significant milestone in the growing cooperation between Nepal and China. He praised the role of China in supporting Nepal's aviation infrastructure development. The Kathmandu-Qingdao-Kathmandu route is expected to enhance connectivity and bilateral ties between the two nations.

Himalaya Airlines plans to operate its weekly service for this route every Sunday starting from September 10, 2023.
